Working Creatively to give your Client a Voice (Angela Rodgers)

Working creatively involves the use of creative and expressive techniques to support any talking therapy. It helps to give clients a means to articulate things that they just don't have words for. This course allows you to explore the kind of creative practitioner you want to be and what resources you want to offer.

Consideration will be given to your workspace, what’s available and what you can provide so you can develop your own unique style. This is also an opportunity for real self-discovery, empowering you with creative options so you’ll leave with a toolbox you are confident in using.

The day will teach you techniques which will be followed by experiential learning with delegates working in pairs/triads for practice and participating in big and small group discussions.

Learning outcomes for the day include:

  • Why/how does working creatively work?

  • How do I introduce creative work?

  • Do I have to be creative to work creatively with clients?

  • Safety and boundaries when working creatively

  • Record keeping when using creative work

  • Working with river of lifer, stones/shells, Russian dolls and more
