Parent and Child Counselling
As research shows, the quality of parent-child relationships can have great impact on a child’s and teenager’s long-term health and wellbeing. As with all relationships, parent-child relationships can get stuck in patterns of aggression, conflict or emotional distancing. This can sometimes be cause by difficult situations such as separation/divorce, trauma or loss.
Parent and child counselling aims to enable parents and children to have the best possible relationships with each other. They can be helped to talk to each other about the things that matter, sharing unspoken resentments, appreciations, hopes, fears and hurts. Counselling can help improve communication between both the parent and child to reduce conflict and arguments and aid in forming a strong, resilient relationship.
